Audience and Genre

I have decided that my target audience will be my peers, so this includes teenage boys (of around 16+ years) to men in their mid-20s who would like the same sort of films and genres. Of course other people may be interested in the type of film I will make, as it just depends on their likes and opinions.

The genres I am considering are:

• Action
• Thriller
• Comedy
• Horror
• Sci-fi
• (or a combination of any of the above, i.e. Action Comedy or Sci-fi Horror)

I will be looking at various opening scenes in these genres, and also carrying out a survey of the target audience to finally decide on a genre for my production.
