I edited my opening sequence using the mac program iMovie. I had got used to using it after the preliminary exercise, so I felt comfortable using it on my own.
Once I had my video near enough cut and put together, I had to find some music. I did have a look on some websites which provide copyright-free music, although I couldn't find anything to fit what I needed. Browsing the library of sound clips in iMovie, I found the perfect soundtrack to my opening sequence - a fast-paced heavy beat which added to the atmosphere of the sequence.
I didn't want too many transitions, such as fades or dissolves, in my sequence as they were not found in the opening sequences I have analysed. I did cross-dissolve at a couple of points where it fitted in, but I didn't want to overuse the feature and ruin the piece.
